Le Rouge et le Noir.

From left to right: 1. Revlon,Valentine 2. Rimmel London, 320 Rapid Ruby, 3.Covergirl Boundless Color 554, Crushed Berries, 4. Rimmel London, Lasting Finishing Pro.

I am an avid lover of red nail polish so I just thought I would post some of my cheap favourites. I love a darker red that's still bright enough to be noticed in contrast to my all black attire. These are my favourite shades, and the ones that have worked the best although I have invested in clear top coats and base coats because that whole "guaranteed to last 5-10days" nonsense is the biggest lie since OJ Simpson.
I'm currently wearing the Rimmel lasting finish PRO on the far right.
As for top coats I would recommend Seche Vite, or Sally Hansen Complete Care  extra moisturizing 4 in 1 treatment. My manicures end up last longer than a week thanks to these.

I am looking for a darker red bordering on black for spring because I'll be wearing lighter colours and looser clothing, so I'll be on the hunt, If anyone has favourites or recommendations please do share in the comments section!

  1. Rimmel and Revlon nail varnishes suck in my experience. Sometimes the cheaper brands are better

    1. I know, sometimes it's really about the topcoat you use! Rimmel works really well for me though.

    1. I've totally been avoiding OPI, although I know I should invest in good nail polish. They really have beautiful shades! I haven't really followed any beauty blogs yet and yours is lovely, I'm following you as well (on GFC) :)
